 People in the World

The present population of the world, as of 9/16/98, according to the population clock of U.S. Census Bureau is:

5,943,159,879

We have on the planet simply too many people who naturally enough possess both basic and psychic human needs. Resources are badly distributed and the genuine causes of exploding population -- ignorance, carelessness, economic necessity, poverty, disease are not addressed. Projections of our numbers into the future are neither comforting nor reassuring.
