Who Is King of the Jungle?

Once upon a time a lion encountered a monkey.

"Hey, monkey," the lion growled.

Ye-Ye- Yes, sire?" the monkey answered, voice trembling.

"Who is the king of the jungle?" the lion roared.

"Why you are, sire, you are!"

"Right!" the lion said. "And don't you forget it!"

Later, the lion met a zebra.

"Hey, you, zebra!" the lion roared.

"Yes, sire?" the zebra answered.

"Who's the king of the jungle?"

"But you are, sire. You are."

"That's right! And don't you forget it."

A little later, the lion came upon an elephant.

"Hey, you, elephant! Who's the king of the jungle?" the lion roared.

Without a word, the elphant ambled over to the lion, picked him up with his trunk and threw him against a tree. Then he walked over and stepped on the lion's tail. Then the elephant picked up the lion again and slammed him hard to the ground.

As the elephant walked away, the battered lion lifted his head and called, "Hey, sucker, you don't have to get mad just because you don't know the right answer!"
